From what I have heard about the expressed views of the Rector of St. John's Anglican Church, Ashfield, Sydney, on Genesis I should think the Sydney Atheists are right to champion the seeming sentiment of the sign on the church property.

The Ashfield rector, Andrew Katay, is on record at a Sydney University debate of publicly proclaiming the atheist cosmogonic substitute, the Big Bang, as his preferred choice over for the Bible's creation ex nihilo. That is, according to the big bangers, matter is eternal.
Further, Katay, in a tres cool outreach, showed 'Dawn of the Dead' and invited the neighbourhood to come and watch it in his church's graveyard. Reinventing the evangelical wheel!
John, the comment at university is what I heard as well.
The obscure cemetery exercise is far removed from the 'reaching the lost' measures employed by leaders of the 'Awakening' a few centuries ago.
